Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

When Ibn Amir assumed Ihram from Khurasan, Uthman bin Affan and other companions criticized this and they disliked it.

Hazrat Abu Dharr says: "Benefit from these very clothes of yours, indeed your mount does not make you independent of Allah in any matter."

Hazrat Alqamah would benefit from his clothes themselves.

Hazrat Umar saw a person who had assumed Ihram from Qatarsi al-Hayyah (the area between Wasit and Basra). He said: Look at this person, he has made something up from himself, even though Allah the Exalted has granted him ease.

Hazrat Imran bin Husain put on Ihram from Basra, then he came to Hazrat Umar, so he spoke to him harshly and said: People will say that one of the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to put on Ihram from one of the cities.

Hazrat Muslim Abi Salman says that a person assumed Ihram from Kufa. Hazrat Umar saw him in a distressed state, so he took him by the arm and made him go around the gatherings of people, saying along with it: "Look at this person, he has done this on his own accord, even though Allah Almighty has granted ease for him."

A person asked Hazrat Mujahid, "Which person is more virtuous: the one who enters into Ihram from his home, from the mosque of his tribe and people, from the mosque of the city, or from the Miqat?" Hazrat Mujahid replied, "I enter into Ihram on the day of Tarwiyah, then I remain fearful that I might become non-Ihram (halal) until my Ihram puts me into hardship and difficulty."
