Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ghafar Al-Muthanna bin Saeed narrates that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid: A person says to another, "I will gift you a ram if your family does not come home at night." He replied: He must gift the ram.

Hazrat Ata says that when someone says he will give his son as a gift, he should give a ram in his place.

It is narrated in the same manner from Ibrahim.

Ibrahim says that when he says that he will offer it as a gift naked and on foot, then he will perform Hajj barefoot and on foot and will not ride on a mount, but the one upon whom the oath was sworn will ride.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that if a person says to another person, "I will gift you a son," and Hazrat Waki’ says that when he says this to his own son, then he will gift blood money.

Ibrahim says that he will perform Hajj.

Ibrahim says that it is obligatory for him to have him perform Hajj.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) say that he will offer a camel as a sacrificial animal.

Hazrat Masrooq says that he will offer a sheep as a gift.
