من حلف (لا يشرب لبنا أيأكل زبدا أو جبنا، أو) (ألا) يأكل لحما أياكل شحما؟
If someone swears not to eat meat, can he eat fat?
Hadith 12919
١٢٩١٩ - حدثنا هشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم أنه كان يقول: إذا حلف على اللبن فلا يأكل الزبد فإنه من اللبن، وإذا حلف على الزبد فليأكل اللبن، وإذا حلف على اللحم فلا يأكل الشحم، وإذا حلف على الشحم فليأكل اللحم.
Ibrahim says that if a person swears not to drink milk, then he will also not eat butter because it is also made from milk; and if a person swears not to eat butter, he will not drink milk; and if a person swears not to eat meat, then he will also not eat fat; and if he swears not to eat fat, he can eat meat.
Hadith 12920
١٢٩٢٠ - حدثنا هشيم عن مغيرة قال: كان أصحابنا يقولون: إذا حلف على اللبن فلا يأكل من السمن ولا من الجبن، وإذا حلف على السمن (و) (١) الجبن أكل من اللبن (٢).
Hazrat Mughira says that our companions used to say that when a person swears not to drink milk, he should also not use ghee and cheese, and whoever swears not to eat ghee and cheese can drink milk.
