What to say when lifting the bier
Hadith 12437
١٢٤٣٧ - حدثنا وكيع (ثنا) (١) هشام الدستوائي عن عبد الرحمن السراج عن نافع عن ابن عمر أنه سمع رجلًا في جنازة يقول: ارفعوا على اسم اللَّه فقال (ابن) (٢) عمر: لا تقولوا ارفعوا على اسم اللَّه فإن اسم اللَّه على كل شيء (و) (٣) (قولوا) (٤): ارفعوا بسم اللَّه (٥).
Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard a person at a funeral saying: "Lift him in the name of Allah." Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Do not say, 'Lift in the name of Allah,' because Allah's name is upon everything. Rather, say, 'Lift with the name of Allah.'"
Hadith 12438
١٢٤٣٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن [سليمان التيمي عن بكر بن عبد اللَّه ⦗٢٣٧⦘ المزني قال: إذا حملت السرير فقل: بسم اللَّه، وسبح.
Hazrat Bakr bin Abdullah Al-Muzani says that when you lift the bier, recite Bismillah and recite Tasbih (Subhan Allah).
Hadith 12439
١٢٤٣٩ - حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان] (١) عن أبيه عن بكر بن عبد اللَّه (قال) (٢): إذا (حملت) (٣) (فقل) (٤): بسم اللَّه، وسبح؛ ما حمل.
Hazrat Bakr bin Abdullah says that when you lift the bier of the funeral, recite Bismillah and glorify Allah.
