Some scholars say the funeral prayer should not be performed after burial
Hadith 12311
١٢٣١١ - حدثنا جرير بن عبد الحميد عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: لا يصلَّى على الميت مرتين.
Ibrahim says that the funeral prayer for the deceased will not be offered twice.
Hadith 12312
١٢٣١٢ - حدثنا هشيم (قال) (١): (أخبرنا) (٢) أبو حرة عن الحسن أنه كان إذا سبق بالجنازة يستغفر لها ويجلس أو ينصرف.
Hasan says that when the funeral prayer has been performed, then seek forgiveness for the deceased, and either sit down or leave.
Hadith 12313
١٢٣١٣ - حدثنا حفص (بن) (١) غياث عن أشعث قال: كان الحسن لا يرى أن يصلَّى على القبر.
Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hasan did not consider it good to perform the funeral prayer at the grave.
