Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq had made a will to Hazrat Asma bint Umais that she should give him the funeral bath.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaika that when the time of death of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq approached, he advised Hazrat Asma bint Umais to give him the ritual bath. She was observing a voluntary fast at that time. He instructed her to break her fast.

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid had instructed in his will that his wife should give him the ritual bath (ghusl).

Hazrat Abdullah bin Yasar narrates that I heard from Hazrat Sulaiman bin Musa, he said: She will give him the bath.

Hazrat Sufyan and Hazrat Hammad state that the husband and wife, each of them, can give ghusl (ritual bath) to the other.

Hazrat Abu Salamah states that if a man dies among women, then his wife will give him the ritual bath (ghusl).

Hazrat Ata says that a woman may give her husband ghusl (ritual bath).

Ibrahim narrates that Abu Musa Ash'ari was given a bath by his wife.
