Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' states that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) did not consider zakat to be obligatory on jewelry.

Hazrat Qasim says that our wealth was with Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Truthful, and she paid zakat on it except for the jewelry (on which zakat was not paid).

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) did not pay zakat on jewelry.

The niece of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) possessed jewelry, but she did not pay zakat on it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Zubair that Hazrat Jabir said that there is no zakat on jewelry. I asked, "Even if it is a thousand dinars?" He replied, "It will be lent out and worn."

Hazrat Fatimah bint al-Mundhir narrates that Hazrat Asma did not use to pay zakat on jewelry.

Hazrat Fatimah states that Hazrat Asma used to adorn her daughters with gold jewelry, but she did not pay zakat on it.

Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed says that I asked Hazrat Umrah about zakat on jewelry. She replied: I have not seen anyone who considers zakat obligatory on jewelry.

Hasan says that I do not know any of the Rightly Guided Caliphs who considered zakat obligatory on jewelry.

Hasan says that there is no zakat on jewelry; it will be lent out and also worn by oneself.

Hasan and Hazrat Khallas state that there is no zakat on jewelry.

Imam Sha'bi states that the zakat of jewelry is to lend it out on loan.

Hazrat Ismail bin Abdul Malik narrates that I heard Hazrat Abu Ja'far say: "There is no zakat on jewelry," and then he recited this verse: { وَّ تَسْتَخْرِجُوْنَ مِنْہُ حِلْیَۃً تَلْبَسُوْنَھَا }.

Hazrat Ja'far narrates from his father that there is no Zakat on jewelry.

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says that the zakat of jewelry is to lend it temporarily to others and to wear it oneself.

Hazrat Umrah says that we were orphans and under the guardianship of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and our jewelry was with her. She did not take out zakat from it.
