Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss during Ramadan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss his wife while fasting. After saying this, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) smiled, from which we understood that she herself was that wife.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss and embrace his wife while fasting, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) had more control over his desires than you.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that there is no harm for a fasting person in kissing.

Hazrat Zaid Abi Atab narrates that Hazrat Saad was asked about kissing while fasting, so he replied that I do so while fasting.

Hazrat Abu Saeed was asked about kissing while fasting, so he said: If it does not go beyond this, then there is no harm in it.

Umm al-Mu’minin Hafsa bint Umar narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss while in the state of fasting.

Mother of the Believers, Hazrat Umm Salamah narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss me while I was fasting and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was also fasting.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah was asked about kissing for a fasting person, so he replied that I like the idea of placing lips upon lips while in the state of fasting.

Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Umm Salamah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss me while he was fasting.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about kissing while fasting, so he said that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about kissing while fasting, so he granted permission for it.

Hazrat Shaibani says that I asked Hazrat Ikrimah and Hazrat Sha'bi about kissing and embracing, etc., while fasting, and they permitted it.

Hazrat Shaibani says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair about a fasting person kissing (someone), so he replied that there is no harm in it. This is a concession.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Jamee’ says that I asked Hazrat Abu Salamah about a fasting person kissing (his wife), so he replied that I kiss Kalbiyah (Umm Hasan bint Sa’d bin Asbagh) while fasting.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not avoid my face even though I was fasting.

Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Khattab said, "O Messenger of Allah! I could not restrain myself upon seeing my wife and I kissed her while I was fasting. What should I do now?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Can you rinse your mouth while fasting?" Hazrat Umar replied, "Yes, there is no harm in that." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then what harm is there in kissing your wife?"

Hazrat Abu Kathir narrates that he got married in Ramadan. Ummul Momineen Hazrat Umm Salamah said to him that if you wish to play with your wife or kiss her, you may do so.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ubaidullah bin Umar narrates that Hazrat Atika bint Zaid, who was the wife of Hazrat Umar bin Khattab, kissed Hazrat Umar while she was fasting, and Hazrat Umar did not stop her.

Hazrat Masruq was asked about kissing one's wife while fasting, so he said that in my view, kissing her or kissing her hand is the same.
