السحور، من أمر به
Those Who Commanded Eating Suhur
Hadith 9158
٩١٥٨ - حدثنا ابن علية عن عبد العزيز بن صهيب عن أنس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "تسحروا فإن (في) (١) السحور بركة" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Eat suhoor, for there is blessing in suhoor.
Hadith 9159
٩١٥٩ - (حدثنا) (١) وكيع وعلي بن هاشم عن ابن أبي ليلى عن عطاء عن أبي ⦗٤٧٣⦘ هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "تسحروا فإن في السحور بركة" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Eat suhoor, for there is blessing in suhoor."
Hadith 9160
٩١٦٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن (١) موسى بن علي عن أبيه عن أبي قيس مولى عمرو بن (العاص) (٢) عن عمرو بن (العاص) (٣) قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "فصل" (٤) ما بين صيامكم وصيام أهل الكتاب أكلة السحر" (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Al-Aas that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The distinction between your fasts and the fasts of the People of the Book, in terms of virtue, is the pre-dawn meal (suhoor).
Hadith 9161
٩١٦١ - حدثنا محمد بن عبد اللَّه الأسدي عن شريك عن عبد اللَّه بن محمد بن عقيل عن جابر (١) عن النبي ﷺ قال: "من أراد أن يصوم فليتسحر ولو بشيء" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever wishes to fast should also partake in suhoor, even if it is only a little.
Hadith 9162
٩١٦٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن خالد عن عبد اللَّه بن الحارث عن رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ قال: تسحروا ولو حسوة من ماء (١).
A companion narrates: "Partake in suhoor, even if it is only by drinking a single sip of water."
Hadith 9163
٩١٦٣ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن عمران بن مسلم عن سويد بن غفلة قال: ⦗٤٧٤⦘ كانت ترجى (بركة) (١) السحور.
Hazrat Suwaid bin Ghaflah narrates that the blessing of suhoor was hoped for.
Hadith 9164
٩١٦٤ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن هشام عن حفصة (قال: قالت) (١): تسحروا ولو بشربة من ماء فإنها قد ذكرت فيه دعوة.
Hazrat Hafsa says: Eat suhoor, even if it is only a sip of water, because there is mention of invitation in it.
Hadith 9165
٩١٦٥ - حدثنا مطلب بن زياد عن ابن أبي ليلى عن عطية عن أبي سعيد قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "تسحروا فإن في السحور بركة" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Eat suhoor, for there is blessing in suhoor.
Hadith 9166
٩١٦٦ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش (عن مجاهد) (١) عن مورق العجلي عن أبي الدرداء قال: إن من أخلاق النبيين (الإبلاغ) (٢) في السحور (٣).
Hazrat Abu Darda says that among the traditions of the Prophets is to be abundant in eating suhoor (pre-dawn meal).
Hadith 9167
٩١٦٧ - حدثنا زيد بن حباب قال: حدثني معاوية بن صالح قال: حدثني (يوسف) (١) بن سيف (العنسي) (٢) عن الحارث بن زياد عن أبي (رهم) (٣) السماعي أنه سمع عرباض بن سارية يقول: دعانا رسول اللَّه ﷺ في شهر رمضان إلى السحور ⦗٤٧٥⦘ فقال: " (هلموا إلى) (٤) الغداء المبارك" (٥).
Hazrat Irbad bin Sariyah narrates that once in Ramadan, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invited us for suhoor and said, "Come, eat the blessed food."
