Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Do not supplicate while standing as the Jews do in their synagogues.

Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman saw a man standing and supplicating after prayer, so he reproached him.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid has considered it undesirable.

Hazrat Abdullah says that two things are innovations: one is that a person, after finishing the prayer, stands facing the Qiblah and supplicates; and the other is that while rising from the second prostration, he considers it necessary to touch his hips to the ground.

Hazrat Mujahid says that standing after the prayer is disliked, and in this there is resemblance to the Jews.

Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Mughira whether Ibrahim considered it undesirable to raise his hands facing the Qiblah after completing the prayer. He replied, "Yes."

Hazrat Dhahhak narrates that Hazrat Abdullah received news that some people were remembering Allah while standing. He went to them and said, "What a strange thing this is!" They replied, "We have heard the command of Allah: Remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on your sides." Hazrat Abdullah said, "This command is for the time when a person does not have the strength to pray while standing, so he should pray while sitting."

Hazrat Jameel bin Zaid says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) enter the House of Allah and he performed two rak'ahs, then changed his place and went near the corner (of the Ka'bah) and performed two rak'ahs, then I left him and he was standing, supplicating and saying takbeer.

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hasan, while standing in prayer, would raise his eyes towards the sky and supplicate.
