If a Person Goes to a Village, Forest, or Desert, Does He Shorten the Prayer or Not?
Hadith 8411
٨٤١١ - حدثنا غندر عن أشعث عن الحسن ومحمد قال: قلت لهما: الرجل يبدو عشرة أيام أيقصر (الصلاة) (١)؟ (قال) (٢): فقالا: لا.
Hazrat Ash'ath says that I asked Hasan and Muhammad: If a person goes to a village for ten days, will he perform Qasr (shortened prayer) there? They replied: No.
Hadith 8412
٨٤١٢ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن حبيب عن عمرو بن هرم قال: سئل (١) جابر ⦗٢٧٩⦘ ابن (زيد) (٢) عن القوم يبدون من مصرهم إلى البرية: أيصلون ثنتين ما داموا بداة حتى يرجعوا إلى مصرهم؟ قال: لا يتم الصلاة في القرب (والبعد) (٣) (ما داموا بداة) (٤).
Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid was asked that if some people go from their city towards a village, will they offer two rak'ahs until they return? He replied: No, as long as they are residents of the village, whether they go near or far, they will offer the full prayer.
