Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that two men from Banu Khudrah and Banu Amr bin Auf disagreed about the mosque which was founded on piety. Khudri said that it referred to Masjid Nabawi, and Aufi said that it referred to Masjid Quba. Both of them came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) for a decision, so he said, "It is my mosque, it is my mosque. There is much goodness in it."

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri says that the mosque which was founded on piety refers to Masjid Nabawi (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d narrates that two men disagreed about which mosque was meant by the phrase “the mosque founded on piety.” One said it referred to the Prophet’s Mosque, and the other said it referred to the Quba Mosque. Both of them came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said, “It refers to my mosque.”

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the mosque which was founded on piety refers to the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

It is narrated from Hazrat Kharijah bin Zaid that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The mosque whose foundation was laid on piety from the very first day refers to the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that the mosque which was founded on piety refers to the great mosque of Madinah.

Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "Which mosque is meant by the mosque whose foundation was laid on piety?" The Prophet picked up a handful of pebbles and threw them on the ground, then said, "It refers to the mosque of Madinah."

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that the mosque which was founded on piety refers to Masjid Nabawi (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The mosque whose foundation was laid on piety refers to my mosque.
