من قال: الوتر على أهل القرآن
Those who say Witr is wajib for the people of the Qur’an
Hadith 7043
٧٠٤٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا شعبة وهشام عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب قال: أوتر رسول اللَّه ﷺ وليس عليك. قلت (فمن) (١)؟ قال: ⦗٥٠٥⦘ إنما قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أوتروا يا أهل القرآن" (٢).
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Witr, and it is not obligatory upon you. Hazrat Qatadah says that I asked, "Upon whom is it obligatory?" He replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O people of the Qur'an! Perform Witr."
Hadith 7044
٧٠٤٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا أبو سنان سعيد بن سنان عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي عبيدة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أوتروا يا أهل القرآن فإن اللَّه وتر يحب الوتر"، فقال أعرابي: ما يقول رسول اللَّه ﷺ؟ (قال) (١): "إنها ليست (لك) (٢) ولا لأصحابك" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ubaidah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O people of the Qur'an! Perform Witr, for Allah Almighty is Witr (One, Odd) and He loves Witr. A Bedouin asked: O Messenger of Allah, what are you saying? He replied: Witr is not obligatory upon you and people like you.
Hadith 7045
٧٠٤٥ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أخبرنا جويبر عن الضحاك قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: " (إن) (١) اللَّه (وتر) (٢) يحب الوتر فأوتروا يا أهل القرآن" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Dhohak that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah Almighty is Witr (Single, Odd) and He loves Witr. O people of the Qur’an! Perform Witr.
Hadith 7046
٧٠٤٦ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن عون عن عمران (١) عن إبراهيم قال: قال عبد اللَّه إنما الوتر على أهل القرآن (٢).
Hazrat Abdullah says that Witr is obligatory upon the people of the Qur'an.
Hadith 7047
٧٠٤٧ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا شريك عن عمار بن معاوية (الدهني) (١) عن سالم (بن أبي) (٢) الجعد عن حذيفة (قال) (٣): إنما الوتر على أهل القرآن (٤).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Witr is obligatory upon the people of the Qur'an.
Hadith 7048
٧٠٤٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا سفيان عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: كان يقال: إنما الوتر على أهل القرآن.
Ibrahim says that it was said that Witr is obligatory upon the people of the Qur'an.
Hadith 7049
٧٠٤٩ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي عبيدة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إنما الوتر على أهل القرآن" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ubaidah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Witr is obligatory upon the people of the Qur'an.
