Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sulaiman bin Yasar says that I came to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), he was sitting at a place between the mosque and the market, and people were performing prayer. We said to him, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! Why are you not performing prayer?" He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a prayer is not to be performed twice in one day."

Hazrat Mujahid says that I went out with Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) from the house of Hazrat Abdullah bin Khalid. When we reached the door of the mosque, people were performing the Asr prayer. He stood there until the people finished their prayer and then said that I had already performed the prayer at home.

Hazrat Umar says that the prayer will not be repeated.
