Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Masood was asked whether a person can offer voluntary prayers (nafl) at the same place where he has performed the obligatory prayers (fard). He replied that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to offer the voluntary prayers at the same place where he had performed the obligatory prayers.

Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Umar says that I saw Hazrat Qasim and Hazrat Salim performing nafl prayers at the same place after offering the obligatory prayer. Nafi' told me that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) did not consider there to be any harm in this.

Hazrat Mas'ar says that I asked Hazrat Ata about a person who offers prayer at the same place, so he replied that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Hisham states that Hasan and Muhammad used to offer the voluntary prayers (nafl) at the same place where they had performed the obligatory prayer (fard).

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that except for the Imam, if others wish, they should not change their place.
