Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Kulthum bin Jabr narrates that Hazrat Muslim bin Yasar said to me: On the day of Friday, when you see that half the day has passed, do not sell anything.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Dhi'b says that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz used to prohibit people from buying and selling after the Friday adhan.

Hazrat Dhahhak says that on Friday, when the sun declines (from its zenith), buying and selling become forbidden until the prayer has been performed.

Hazrat Ata and Hasan also say the same.

Hazrat Abu Miqdam Mawla Quraysh says that once Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad bought something from a man on a Friday. Later, when he met him, he said to him, "Cancel this sale of mine because I unknowingly bought that thing after the sun had passed its zenith."

Hazrat Mujahid says that whoever engages in trade after the sun has passed its zenith on Friday, his trade is rejected. Because Allah Almighty has forbidden trade after the call to prayer for Friday.

Hazrat Burd says that I asked Hazrat Zuhri when buying and selling become prohibited on Friday. He replied that previously, it used to be at the time of the first call to prayer when the Imam would come out. Then Hazrat Uthman added a third call to prayer, after which the call to prayer began to be given from the minaret to gather the people. In my opinion, buying and selling should be abandoned at that time.

Hazrat Maymun states that it was the practice of the people of Madinah that when the muezzin would give the call to prayer on Friday, people in the markets would announce that trade has become forbidden, trade has become forbidden.

Hazrat Sha'bi, regarding the hour of acceptance on Friday, says that it is the time between when trade is forbidden and when it becomes permissible.
