Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar says that if a person has a habit of reciting (the Qur'an) at night and is unable to do so, then he should do it before Zuhr; in this way, it is as if he has performed this act at night.

Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Amr narrates that a man sought permission to meet Hazrat Umar at noon. He did not grant him permission for quite some time. Then, he was granted permission. Hazrat Umar said to him, "I used to recite a portion of the Holy Qur'an at night, but I could not recite it last night, so I am reciting it at this time."

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a person misses his nightly recitation routine, then reciting it after the day has dawned is just like reciting it at night.

Hazrat Qasim says that we used to visit Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) before the Fajr (probably should be Zuhr) prayer. One day we visited and she was praying. She said, "I was not able to perform my regular prayer during the night, so I did not consider it appropriate to leave it, therefore I am offering it at this time."

Hazrat Abu Salamah says that if a person misses a deed at night and makes it up before the sun declines, it is as if he has attained his deed.
