If Someone Forgets to Pray or Sleeps Without Praying, What Is the Ruling?
Hadith 4807
٤٨٠٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا (١) يونس ومنصور عن الحسن أنه كان يقول: من نام عن صلاة العشاء فاستيقظ عند طلوع الشمس قال: يصلي الفجر ثم يصلي العشاء.
Hasan used to say that if a person sleeps before the ‘Isha prayer and then wakes up after the sun has risen, he should first offer the Fajr prayer and then the ‘Isha prayer.
Hadith 4808
٤٨٠٨ - حدثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا (١) مغيرة عن إبراهيم أنه كان يقول: يبدأ بالعشاء التي نام عنها.
Ibrahim used to say that he should first perform the Isha prayer, which he had fallen asleep without offering.
Hadith 4809
٤٨٠٩ - حدثنا روح بن عبادة عن ابن جريج عن عطاء في الرجل ينسى العتمة أو يرقد عنها حتى تكون (١) الصبح فقيل له فإن بدأ بالعتمة فاتته الصبح قال: فليبدأ بالعتمة وإن فاتته الصبح.
Hazrat Ata, regarding the person who forgot to perform the Isha prayer or slept until morning, says that he should first perform the Isha prayer. Someone asked, if by performing the Isha prayer, the Fajr prayer becomes Qada (missed), then what should he do? He replied that even then he should perform the Isha prayer, even if his Fajr prayer becomes Qada.
