Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Khulda says that I told Hazrat Abu Al-Aliyah that I had prayed in the mosque of such-and-such people, and their imam recited the verse of prostration but did not perform the prostration. Hazrat Abu Al-Aliyah said, "Why did you not perform the prostration?"

Hazrat Abdur Rahman A'raj says that Hazrat Abu Hurairah used to perform sajdah (prostration) in Surah Al-Inshiqaq. If he was praying behind someone and the imam, while reciting Surah Al-Inshiqaq, did not perform sajdah, then Hazrat Abu Hurairah would lower his head and indicate (the sajdah) by gesture.

Hazrat Abu Umar Mawla al-Muttalib narrates that I was sitting in the mosque on Friday with Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) beside the chamber of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Hazrat Tariq was delivering the sermon to the people. He recited Surah An-Najm. Upon hearing it, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed sajdah, and we also performed sajdah. But that unfortunate one (Tariq, the preacher) did not move at all.
