Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha'bi used to say that if a person recites a verse of prostration after Fajr or Asr, he should perform the prostration.

Hasan and Ibrahim say that when you recite a verse of prostration, perform the prostration at any time, whether it is after Asr or after Fajr.

Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam about the person who recites a verse of prostration after ‘Asr. Hazrat Hakam replied that during the time of Bishr bin Marwan, Hazrat Raja bin Haywah came to us; he was wearing a turban. When he recited a verse of prostration after ‘Asr, he would perform prostration. Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hammad about this matter, and he replied that if it is the time for any prayer, then there is no harm.

Hazrat Salim, Hazrat Qasim, Hazrat Ata, and Hazrat Amir, regarding the person who recites a verse of prostration after Asr and before the sun rises, state that he will perform the prostration.

Hazrat Ikrimah says that when you recite a verse of prostration after Asr or Fajr, then perform the prostration.

Hazrat Ikrimah says that only laziness prevents them from performing this prostration.
