How long should one stand in Asr prayer?
Hadith 3621
٣٦٢١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن مسعر وسفيان عن زياد بن فياض عن إبراهيم قال: العصر والمغرب سواء.
Ibrahim says that the Maghrib and Asr prayers are equal.
Hadith 3622
٣٦٢٢ - حدثنا (١) وكيع عن سفيان عن، مغيرة عن (شباك) (٢) عن إبراهيم قال: تضاعف الظهر على العصر أربع (مرار) (٣).
Ibrahim says that the Zuhr prayer is four times longer than the Asr prayer.
Hadith 3623
٣٦٢٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم قال: كانوا يعدلون الظهر بالعشاء والعصر بالمغرب.
Ibrahim says that the predecessors used to keep Dhuhr and Isha and Maghrib and Asr equal.
Hadith 3624
٣٦٢٤ - حدثنا أبو داود عن حماد بن سلمة عن سماك (بن حرب) (١) عن جابر ابن سمرة: أن النبي ﷺ كان يقرأ في الظهر والعصر بـ: ﴿وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ﴾ و ﴿وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ﴾ (٢).
Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah At-Tariq and Surah Al-Buruj in the Zuhr and Asr prayers.
Hadith 3625
٣٦٢٥ - (حدثنا) (١) (سهل) (٢) بن يوسف عن عمرو عن الحسن: أنه كان يسوي بين ركعات الظهر والعصر.
Hazrat Amr states that Hasan used to keep the number of rak‘ahs of Zuhr and ‘Asr equal.
Hadith 3626
٣٦٢٦ - حدثنا إسحاق بن سليمان الرازي (عن أبي) (١) (جعفر عن) (٢) الربيع عن أبي العالية قال: العصر على النصف من الظهر.
Hazrat Abu Al-Aaliyah says that the Asr prayer is half of the Zuhr prayer.
