من كان يقول: إذا صليت إلى سترة فادن منها
Those who say: When praying towards a sutrah, stay close to it
Hadith 2902
٢٩٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا سفيان بن عيينة عن صفوان بن سليم عن نافع ابن جبير عن سهل بن أبي (حثمة) (١) يبلغ به قال: إذا صلى أحدكم إلى سترة فليدن منها لا يقطع الشيطان عليه صلاته (٢).
Hazrat Sahl bin Abi Hathmah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you prays facing a sutrah, he should stay close to it so that Satan cannot interfere in his prayer.
Hadith 2903
٢٩٠٣ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن ابن عجلان عن زيد بن أسلم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي سعيد الخدري عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ إذا صلى أحدكم ﷺ يصل إلى سترة، وليدن منها، ولا يدع أحدا يمر بينه وبينها، فإن جاء أحد يمر فليقاتله فإنه شيطان" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any one of you prays facing a sutrah, he should stay close to it so that no one passes in front of him. If someone tries to pass in front of him, he should stop him, for he is a devil.
Hadith 2904
٢٩٠٤ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ليث عن المغيرة عن أبي عبيدة بن عبد اللَّه عن أبيه قال: لا تصلين وبينك وبين القبلة فجوة، تقدم إلى القبلة، أو استتر بسارية (١).
Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Abdullah narrates from his father that do not offer prayer in such a state that there is a lot of empty space between you and the Qiblah. Either move forward towards the Qiblah or make a pillar your sutrah.
Hadith 2905
٢٩٠٥ - حدثنا ابن (عيينة) (١) عن إسماعيل بن أمية عن مسلم بن أبي مريم عن ابن عمر قال: إذا صلى أحدكم فليصل إلى سترة، وليدن منها كي لا يمر الشيطان أمامه (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when any one of you begins to pray, he should take something as a sutrah (barrier) and stay close to it, so that Satan cannot pass in front of him.
