Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam, “If a person’s phlegm falls into his ablution water, what is the ruling?” He replied that he should remove it with his hand. While saying this, Hazrat Sha’bah demonstrated the method of removing the saliva by putting his hand into the water.

Ibrahim says regarding phlegm that remove the phlegm and the water around it from the water. If there is also saliva in it, then the water becomes impure.

Hasan says regarding saliva that has fallen into water: remove it and perform ablution with the water.
