Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr, and Umar did not apply nūrah to their bodies.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad narrates that there were many hairs on the shank of Bilqis. Hazrat Sulaiman asked how these hairs could be removed. People informed him that it could be done by using "nura" (a depilatory). Since then, nura began to be used for removing hair.

Hazrat Umar bin Hamzah says that Hasan had a lot of hair on his body and he did not use depilatory (paste).

Hazrat Ibn Aun says that Hazrat Salim would sometimes use depilatory (nourah) and sometimes would not.

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid used nura.

Ibrahim narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to use depilatory (nura) to remove hair, he would also apply it to the area below the navel.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abi Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Hazrat Umar had a lot of hair on his body. He used to shave the hair on his body. Someone mentioned "Nura" in his presence, so he said that "Nura" is a part of good grooming.
