Hadith 5410
٥٤١٠ - حدثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا داود بن أبي هند عن الشعبي أن أبا ذر أو الزبير ابن العوام سمع أحدهما من النبي ﷺ يقرؤها وهو على المنبر يوم (الجمعة) (١) (قال) (٢): فقال لصاحبه: متى أنزلت هذه الآية قال: فلما قضى صلاته قال له عمر بن الخطاب: لا جمعة لك فأتى النبي ﷺ فذكر ذلك له قال فقال: "صَدَقَ عُمَرُ" (٣).
Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that either Hazrat Abu Dharr or Hazrat Zubair bin Al-Awwam heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting a verse on the pulpit on Friday, so he asked his companion, "When was this verse revealed?" When they had performed the Friday prayer, Hazrat Umar bin Khattab said to them, "Your Friday (prayer) has not been valid." Then they went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this matter to him, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Umar speaks the truth."
