Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Shaddad bin Ma’qal that he said: Abdullah said: “The time is near when you will not receive any money or dirham from Kufa.” I asked, “How will this happen, O Abdullah bin Mas’ud?” He replied, “Such people will come whose faces will be like swollen shields, until they tie their horses around and drive you out to places where grass grows, until a camel and provisions for the journey will be more beloved to one of you than a palace from among these palaces of yours.”
