Hadith 40179
٤٠١٧٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق عن حذيفة قال: المنافقون الذين فيكم اليوم شر من المنافقين الذين كانوا على عهد رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: (قلنا) (١): (يا (أ) (٢) با) (٣) عبد اللَّه وكيف ذاك؟ قال: إن (أولئك) (٤) كانوا يسرون نفاقهم، كان هؤلاء أعلنوه (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The hypocrites among you nowadays are worse than the hypocrites of the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator said: We asked, O Abu Abdullah, how can this be? He replied: Because they used to conceal their hypocrisy, while these people display it openly.
