Hadith 40005
٤٠٠٠٥ - حدثنا محمد بن عبد اللَّه الأسدي عن إسرائيل عن سماك عن ثروان بن (ملحان) (١) قال: كنا جلوسا في المسجد فمر علينا عمار (بن) (٢) ياسر فقلنا له: حدثنا حديث رسول اللَّه ﷺ في الفتنة فقال: سمعت رسول اللَّه قوله يقول: "سيكون بعدي أمراء يقتتلون على الملك، يقتل بعضهم عليه بعضا"، فقلنا له: لو (٣) حدثنا به غيرك كذبناه، قال: "أما إنه سيكون" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Tharwan bin Malhan that he said: We were sitting in the mosque when Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir passed by us. We requested him, "Please narrate to us a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding tribulations (fitnah)." He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Soon after me there will be rulers who will fight over the kingdom (i.e., for the acquisition of power), and in this, some will kill others." We said to him, "If anyone other than you had narrated this to us, we would have denied it." He replied, "Indeed, this will surely happen."
