Hadith 39913
٣٩٩١٣ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن شقيق عن حذيفة قال: لفتنة السوط أشد من فتنة السيف، قالوا: وكيف ذاك؟ قال: إن الرجل ليضرب بالسوط حتى يركب (الخشبة) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Shaqiq narrates from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The trial of the whip is more severe than the trial of the sword." His companions asked, "How can this be?" He replied, "Indeed, a man is beaten with a whip until he is made to ride upon wood."
