It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed that Hazrat Umar exiled the people of Najran ... the Jews and Christians ... and bought their lands and grapevines. And Hazrat Umar made this agreement with them: if they themselves provide the vines and ploughing equipment, then they will receive two-thirds of the produce and Hazrat Umar will receive one-third; and if Hazrat Umar provides the seeds, then they will receive half the share. And Hazrat Umar made an agreement with them regarding dates on the condition that one-fifth of the produce would be theirs and four-fifths would belong to Hazrat Umar ... and regarding grapes, he made an agreement with them on the condition that their share would be one-third and Hazrat Umar's share would be two-thirds.
