Hazrat Yaqub bin Zaid bin Talha Taimi and Muhammad bin Munkadir narrate that on that day (the day of the conquest of Makkah) there were three hundred and sixty idols in the Ka'bah. There was also an idol on Safa and Marwah, and the space between them was filled with idols, and there was a circle of idols around the Ka'bah as well. The narrator says, Muhammad bin al-Munkadir says: Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood up, and he had a stick with him, with which he was pointing towards the idols. Whichever idol the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, pointed to, that idol would fall down. Until he, peace and blessings be upon him, reached the idols named Isaf and Na'ilah, which were near the place in front of the Ka'bah. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Mix both of them into the dust. So the Muslims knocked both of those idols down. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Say. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! What should we say? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Say: Allah's promise has been fulfilled, and He helped His servant, and He alone defeated all the armies.
