Hadith 39680
٣٩٦٨٠ - حدثنا سليمان بن حرب قال: حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن عكرمة أن النبي ﷺ قدم يوم الفتح وصورة إبراهيم وإسماعيل في البيت وفي أيديهما القداح فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "ما لإبراهيم وللقداح واللَّه ما استقسم بها قط"، ثم أمر بثوب فبل ومحى به صورهما (١).
Hazrat Ikrimah narrates that the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived on the day of the conquest of Makkah. In the House of Allah, there were images of Ibrahim and Ismail. And in their hands were arrows. So the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What connection is there between Ibrahim and arrows? By Allah! Ibrahim never tried his luck with arrows. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered for a cloth to be brought, and after wetting it, the images of those personalities were erased.
