It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took me along with him until he brought me to the Ka'bah. Then he said, "Sit down." So I sat down on one side of the Ka'bah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted my shoulders and then said to me, "Lift me up." I lifted him up, but when he saw that I was weak in standing while carrying him, he said, "Sit down." So I sat down, and he descended from above me. Then he sat down for me and said, "O Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)! Mount my shoulders." So I mounted his shoulders, and then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted me up towards the top. When he lifted me up, I felt as if, if I wished, I could reach the horizon of the sky with my hand. Then I climbed onto the roof of the Ka'bah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) moved aside and instructed me, "Throw down the largest idol among those present above, which belongs to the Quraysh." And that idol was made of copper and was fixed to the roof with iron nails. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me, "Shake it." So I began to shake it, and he kept telling me, "Shake it more, shake it more." So I kept shaking it until the idol came under my control. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Throw it down." So I threw that idol down, and then I (myself) came down as well.
