Hadith 39677
٣٩٦٧٧ - حدثنا شبابة بن سوار قال: حدثنا (المغيرة) (١) بن مسلم عن أبي الزبير عن جابر قال: دخلنا مع النبي ﷺ مكة (وفي البيت) (٢) وحول البيت ثلاثمائة وستون صنما تعبد من دون اللَّه، قال: فأمر بها رسول اللَّه ﷺ (فكبت) (٣) كلها لوجوهها، ثم قال: ﴿جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا﴾ [الإسراء: ٨١]، ثم دخل رسول اللَّه ﷺ (٤) البيت فصلى (فيه) (٥) ركعتين، فرأى فيه تمثال إبراهيم ⦗٤٧⦘ وإسماعيل وإسحاق (وقد جعلوا) (٦) في يد إبراهيم الأزلام يستقسم بها، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "قاتلهم اللَّه، ما كان إبراهيم يستقسم بالأزلام"، ثم دعا رسول اللَّه ﷺ بزعفران فلطخه بتلك التماثيل (٧).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that we entered Makkah with the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and also entered the House of Allah (the Ka'bah), and around the House of Allah there were three hundred and sixty idols which were worshipped besides Allah... The narrator states: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered regarding those idols, so all the idols were thrown down on their faces. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Truth has come and falsehood has vanished; indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the House of Allah and performed two units of prayer inside the House of Allah. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw pictures attributed to Ibrahim, Ismail, and Ishaq inside the House of Allah, in such a state that the polytheists had drawn images of arrows in their hands, by which lots were cast. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), upon seeing this scene, said: "May Allah destroy them (the polytheists); Ibrahim did not cast lots with arrows." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for saffron and, using it, erased those images.
