It is narrated from Hazrat Zakariya bin Abi Zaida that I was with Abu Ishaq between Makkah and Madinah. Then a man from Banu Khuza’ah came to us. Abu Ishaq said to him, “How did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say this statement: ‘Indeed, this cloud is thundering for the help of Banu Ka’b’?” So that Khuza’i man replied, “Indeed, this cloud had decided to help Banu Ka’b.” Then that Khuza’i showed us a letter which was from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to Khuza’ah. And I wrote that letter on the same day. It was written in it: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This letter is from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), to Budeel, Basr, and the chiefs of Banu Amr. So indeed, I praise before you that God besides whom there is no deity. Anyway, after this, I have not broken your covenant, nor have I made your land permissible (for others). And among the people of Tihamah, you are the most honored to me. And the closest in kinship. And (likewise) those who have followed you (i.e., Banu Hashim, Banu Zuhrah, etc.). And I have made the same covenant for the emigrants among you as I have made for myself. And if any of you migrates from his land in such a way that he does not reside there except for Hajj and Umrah, if you accept peace, then I will not give any command concerning you. And you will neither be afraid nor besieged from my side.
2. As for what follows! So indeed, Alqamah bin Alathah and Ibn Hawzah have accepted Islam and they, along with their follower ... Ikrimah ... have migrated. And for them also, he has made the same covenant as he has made for himself. And among us, some are under the command of others in terms of what is lawful and unlawful. And by Allah, I have not denied you, so may your Lord grant you life.
3. The narrator states: I heard from Zuhri that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “These people are from Khuza’ah, and they are from my family.” The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote a letter to them. These people were encamped between Arafat and Makkah at that time. And these people were allies of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
