Hadith 38960
٣٨٩٦٠ - حدثنا ابن علية عن عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق عن الزهري عن سعيد ابن المسيب أن النبي ﷺ أمر عتاب بن أسيد أن يخرص العنب كما يخرص النخل فيؤدي زكاته زبيبا كما تؤدى زكاة النخل تمرًا، فتلك سنة النبي ﷺ في النخل والعنب (١).
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Attab bin Asid to estimate the yield of grapes just as the yield of dates is estimated. Thus, the zakat of grapes will be paid in the form of raisins, and the zakat of dates will be paid in the form of dried dates. This is the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding dates and grapes.
