Hadith 36113
٣٦١١٣ - حدثنا ابن (علية) (١) عن أيوب عن نافع عن أسلم مولى عمر قال: لما قدم عمر الشام أتاه رجل من الدهاقين فقال: إني قد صنعت طعاما فأحب أن تجيء فيرى أهل أرضي كرامتي عليك ومنزلتي عندك، أو كما قال، فقال: إنا لا ندخل هذه الكنائس أو هذه البيع التي فيها الصور (٢).
Hazrat Aslam, the servant of Hazrat Umar, narrates that when Hazrat Umar came to Syria, a man from among the local farmers came to him and said, "I have prepared food and I wish that you come to my house so that the people of my area may realize my status and rank in your eyes." Hazrat Umar replied, "We do not enter such places of worship in which there are pictures."
