Hadith 35313
٣٥٣١٣ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن (١) بكر السهمي قال: ثنا حاتم بن أبي صغيرة عن (النعمان) (٢) بن سالم أن (عمرو) (٣) بن أوس أخبره (أن أباه أوسًا أخبره) (٤) قال: إنا لقعود عند رسول اللَّه ﷺ وهو يقص علينا ويذكرنا إذ أتاه رجل فسأله فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اذهبوا فاقتلوه"، فلما ولى الرجل دعاه رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: "هل تشهد أن لا إله إلا اللَّه؟ " قال: نعم، قال: "اذهبوا فخلوا سبيله، وإنما أمرت أن أقاتل الناس حتى يقولوا: لا إله إلا اللَّه، فإذا فعلوا ذلك حرم (عليّ) (٥) دماؤهم وأموالهم" (٦).
Hazrat Uwais (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was advising and admonishing us. Suddenly, a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him something. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go and kill him. When that man turned to leave, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called him back and asked: Do you bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah? He replied: Yes! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go, leave his way clear, for I have been commanded to fight the people until they recite the statement "There is no deity except Allah." And when they do so, their lives and their wealth become forbidden for me.
