Hadith 33205
٣٣٢٠٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث بن (عياش) (١) بن أبي ربيعة (الزرقي) (٢) عن حَكِيم بن حكيم بن عباد بن حنيف الأنصاري عن أبي أمامة بن سهل بن (حنيف) (٣) أن رجلًا رمى رجلًا بسهم فقتله، وليس له وارث إلا خال، فكتب في ذلك أبو عبيدة بن الجراح إلى عمر، فكتب إليه عمر أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: "اللَّه ورسوله مولى من لا مولى له، والخال وارث من لا وارث له" (٤).
Hazrat Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man shot another man with an arrow, causing his death, and the deceased had no heir except a maternal uncle. Regarding this, Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah and His Messenger are the guardians of the one who has no guardian, and the maternal uncle is the heir of the one who has no heir."
