Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim said regarding the woman who, at the time of her death, left behind her husband, mother, full brother, and maternal brother: her husband will receive three shares, that is, half of the total wealth; her mother will receive one share, that is, one-sixth of the total wealth; and her maternal brothers will receive two shares, that is, one-third of the wealth. And he did not allot any share of inheritance to the woman's father and mother, following the decision of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), whereas Hazrat Umar, Abdullah, and Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with them) included the full brothers with the maternal brothers in that one-third of the wealth which they inherited, except that these gentlemen allotted equal shares to the men and women among them.
