Hazrat Abu Salih narrates that a man from the Ansar was stung by a scorpion. When morning came, he went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I remained awake the whole night because of the scorpion’s sting! The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you had recited these words in the evening, “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of His creation,” then the scorpion could not have harmed you until morning. Abu Salih says: So I taught these words to my son and daughter, and then both of them were stung by a scorpion. And they did not suffer any harm.
