Hadith 3014
٣٠١٤ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أنا حصين بن عبد الرحمن ومغيرة والأعمش عن أبي وائل عن عبد اللَّه قال: كنا إذا جلسنا خلف رسول اللَّه ﷺ في الصلاة نقول: السلام على اللَّه، السلام على جبرائيل، السلام على ميكائيل، السلام على فلان، (السلام على فلان) (١)، قال: (فالتفت) (٢) إلينا النبي ﷺ فقال: "إن اللَّه هو السلام فقولوا: التحيات للَّه (والصلوات والطيبات) (٣)، السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة اللَّه وبركاته، السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين، أشهد أن لا إله إلا اللَّه ⦗١٤٠⦘ (وأشهد) (٤) أن محمدا عبده ورسوله، فإنكم إذا فعلتم ذلك فقد سلمتم على كل عبد صالح في السماوات والأرض" (٥).
Hazrat Abdullah says that when we used to sit in prayer behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to say: Peace be upon Allah, peace be upon Jibreel, peace be upon Mikaeel, peace be upon so-and-so and so-and-so. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards us and said: Allah is As-Salaam (the Source of Peace). When any of you sits in prayer, he should say: All verbal worship, physical worship, and financial worship are for Allah. O Prophet, peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. When you have done this, you have sent peace upon every righteous servant in the heavens and the earth.
