It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He says that one of us suffered from a severe illness, so the physicians said: This man will only recover if he is cauterized. His family intended to have him cauterized, but then some said: No, not until we ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "No." Then the man recovered. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he said: "Is this man from such-and-such tribe?" The people said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If this man had been cauterized, people would have said that it was the cauterization that cured him."
