Hadith 20225
٢٠٢٢٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن (ابن) (١) أبي عروبة عن قتادة أن رجلًا طلق امرأته في الجاهلية تطليقتين ثم أسلم، فطلقها في الإسلام تطليقة (فسأل) (٢) عمر عبد الرحمن بن عوف فقال: طلاقه في الشرك ليس بشيء (٣).
Hazrat Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man gave his wife two divorces during the period of ignorance. Then he accepted Islam and gave his wife one divorce in Islam. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) about this matter, so he replied that the divorce given in the state of polytheism has no validity.
