Hadith 20162
٢٠١٦٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن هشام قال: سألت عروة عن الرجل يطلق امرأته البتة، أيرث أحدهما الآخر؟ وهل لها نفقة؟ فقال: لا يرث أحدهما الآخر، ولا نفقة لها، إلا أن (تكون) (١) حبلى فينفق عليها حتى تضع، أو يطلق مضارا في (مرضٍ) (٢).
Hazrat Hisham (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Urwah whether, if a person gives his wife an irrevocable divorce, will they inherit from each other? And will the woman receive maintenance? He replied that they will not inherit from each other, and the woman will also not receive maintenance. However, if she is pregnant, she will receive maintenance. The man will spend on her until the child is born. Similarly, if the divorce is given during a terminal illness to harm the woman, the same ruling applies.
