Hadith 19952
١٩٩٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا جرير عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: كانت امرأة تعتد من زوجها توفي عنها (فاشتكى) (١) أبوها فأرسلت إلى أم سلمة تسألها: (أتأتي) (٢) أباها تمرضه؟ فقالت: إذا كنت (أحد) (٣) طرفي النهار في بيتك (٤).
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that a woman's husband had passed away and she was in her waiting period ('iddah). During this time, the woman's father fell ill. She sent a message to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked whether she could go to take care of her father. Umm Salamah replied: "If you stay in your house during one part of the day, then you may go."
