من قال: الحرام يمين وليست بطلاقThose Scholars Who Say 'You Are Forbidden to Me' Is an Oath, Not Divorce
Hadith 19202
١٩٢٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا يعلى (عن) (١) إسماعيل قال: قال عامر: زعم أناس أن عليًا كان يجعلها عليه حراما حتى تنكح زوجًا غيره واللَّه ما قالها علي قط (ولأنا) (٢) أعلم بها من الذي قالها؟ إنما قال: ما أنا بمُحلها (٣) ولا بمحرمها عليه (إن شاء فليتقدم) (٤) وإن شاء فليتأخر (٥).
Hazrat Amir, may Allah have mercy on him, says that people think that Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, held the view that if a man declares his wife forbidden to himself, then three divorces take place, and the woman does not become lawful for that husband until she marries another man. By God! Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, never said such a thing, nor do I know of anyone who held this opinion. Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said that I neither declare it lawful nor unlawful; if he wishes, he may proceed, and if he wishes, he may delay.
