Hadith 18711
١٨٧١١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن علية عن أيوب عن أبي قلابة أنه كان يكره أن يطلق امرأته عند كل حيضة، وإنما يفعل ذلك ليطوّل عليها، فإذا فعل ذلك فعدتها من أول العدة ما لم يراجعها.
Hazrat Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) considered it undesirable to divorce a woman before every menstrual period. According to him, this act increases the waiting period (‘iddah) of the woman. In this case, in his view, the ‘iddah will be counted from the first divorce if reconciliation has not taken place in between.
