Hadith 18670
١٨٦٧٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن عبيد اللَّه بن عمر عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: طلقت امرأتي وهي (حائض) (١)، فذكر ذلك عمر لرسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: "مره فليراجعها حتى تطهر، ثم تحيض، ثم تطهر، ثم إن شاء طلقها قبل أن يجامعها وإن شاء أمسكها فإنها العدة التي قال اللَّه" (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) once divorced his wife during her menses. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned this matter to the Prophet (peace be upon him), so he said: Tell him to take her back, then when the woman becomes pure, then she experiences menstruation again, then when she becomes pure, he may divorce her before intercourse, or keep her, because the waiting period (‘iddah) is that which Allah has prescribed.
