Hadith 15681
١٥٦٨١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: جاءت امرأة إلى ابن عباس فقالت: إن أمي ماتت وعليها حجة فأقضيها عنها؟ فقال ابن عباس: هل كان على أمك دين؟ قالت: نعم، قال: فكيف صنعت؟ قالت: قضيته عنها، قال ابن عباس: فاللَّه خير غرمائك (١).
A woman came to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said, "My mother has passed away and Hajj was obligatory upon her. Should I perform it on her behalf?" Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "Did she have any debt?" The woman replied, "Yes." He asked, "Then what did you do about it?" She said, "I have paid it off." Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Allah is the best creditor, (so fulfill His debt as well)."
